11th November, 2012, Remembrance Sunday

Another sunny Autumn Sunday, and we've started the blog with some photos of Barrow's Remembrance Sunday Parade, which we watch every year. Wierdly, a sun-shower came over just as the Parade was turning into Barrow Park, so the ladies in the photos are all holding onto their hats, and our MP is smiling, of course!

We walked up the very steep side of the ampitheatre today, and followed the wall along the boundaries of the Tudor Abbey lands. We met the farmer who owns Manor farm when we walked along here on that foggy day, and it seems the flat 'road-like' track that runs along the top of the ampitheatre is where he drives his 4x4 between fields. I've oftern wondered what it is like inside Manor Farm's actual house, I'd love to have a look!
There were quite a few people down here today, walking, biking, tandeming (if there's such a word), and enjoying the last bit of sunshine we'll have this week, if the forecasts can be believed! Still no heron though!

Last thought.................heroes past and present.
