A lovely Autumnal Saturday, but it was very quiet down here today (apart from the obvious live bag pipe music!)
We still haven't managed to capture the fishing heron on camera, but it was quiet enough for grey squirrels today! They seemed to be very busy with something- making their 'caches' apparently, ready for the lean months ahead....?
Frankie was very busy stocking up for the lean months ahead too! He can't resist that fantastic combination of 'a walk and a bowl of chips' (that's AS WELL AS a sausage bun from The Last Resort this morning!
The leaves are starting to turn very yellow now and many of the trees down here are already stripped bare.
It's the end of the blackberries and the beginning of searching out wintery looking trees like the holly. There are lots of hollies down here without berries, and we have a lovely one in our garden that has never had berries, but we managed to find this one, just behind the Abbet Mill cafe. Very Christmassy! We are waiting for the first real frost so that we can get down here and get some wintery photos, but it has been quite mild up to now.
