19th November, 2017....Lovely Leven Valley and the first ground frost of the year!

Not wanting to waste the glorious morning, we headed off to Furness Abbey rather early.....

...still a little bit of ground frost around....

...and all quiet at Abbey Mill (apart from Jackie bustling about!)

Most of the autumn foliage is gone now!

That's a shot from very early on Tuesday morning...looking beautiful as always!

On one of our 'long ago' blogs, we mentioned the gate keepers hut being very like Nick Butterworth's Percy the Park Keeper's hut, and we were so thrilled to have an email from him this week, saying he's seen the photos and loved the hut. He wondered where in the world it was, and in further correspondence with him, he is interested in coming down to the hut to do a reading and some kind of meet and greet for our two schools, which will be FAB!!!

We had a lovely day at the Leven Valley earlier this week, visiting our favourite Lakeland Motor Museum and just enjoying the River Leven in full force....

It is well worth a visit...and it's there's no 'sick-inducing' coach ride before it!!

We did our bit for the Children in Need charity on Friday...teachers and their own children featured here...and raised £125 plus whatever our chocolate mountain fetches!

Had a rather large roast dinner today.....

...with THIS trifle.....then headed off to the Hawcoat Park Christmas Craft Fair...

...and really liked Jack Webster's fine arts stall- he's one to watch! Talking of Christmas Fairs, why not come down and support ours on Friday at 2pm....and thanks to Miss Gatt especially for her class's real effort with the letters to local businesses- we've had some fantastic prizes donated from POSH flowers; Last Resort Café; Abbey Mill Café; Wax Lyrical; Tesco; Asda; Stollers;Top Mark to name but a few...thanks to everyone for supporting our school!!
