17th August, 2017...Bustling Lakeland and Tranquil Abbey!

Half way through August and still waiting for the 'heatwave'- same every year isn't it- then we moan it's too hot! Of course, we had the traditional 'rainy' few days in the Lake District earlier this week- We loved The Low Wood Bay Hotel so much last Autumn, we decided to go there again, even though the refurbishments aren't quite finished yet- and it was just as nice, even in the rain!

We chatted to the staff there, and they think it will all be finished by the end of the year- the pool is now open and the rooms and public areas are nicely upgraded, but there will be a spa and various new restaurants and an atrium, so looking forward to visiting again soon!

Enjoyed some shopping, fishing and family cocktails too!!!
The Steve Hillman camera had a wedding at The Low Wood venue a couple of weeks ago.......

...the Lake District venues are becoming more and more popular for weddings, and it's not hard to see why.....

(ahhh...Miss C got married!!)

...back here at the weekend though!!!

We decided on an early morning walk to Furness Abbey today, to escape all the hurly burly of Lake District Life, and it was lovely.....

......autumn in the hedgerows.....

......a spot of morning tea at Abbey Mill Café.....

...we love The Lakes but we love home more!!!
